Course Description
Formerly NURS 3116
This course involves an examination of concepts related to the common alterations in health and the essential nursing care of a particular client population, namely infants, children, and young adults. The emphasis is on the integration of new and specialized knowledge through the use of a decision-making framework (DMF) in understanding infants', childrens', young adults', and families' experiences with health and chronic challenges. Growth and development, disease prevention, health promotion, and health and healing initiatives, including pharmacology, are integrated throughout the course. Delivered in a mixed-mode format.
Students will receive credit for only one of NURS 3116 or 3261.
Prerequisite(s): A minimum "C+" grade in all of the following: NURS 2221, 3130, 3160, and 4122; and an "S" grade in NURS 3162.
Corequisite(s): NURS 3209, 3262, 3264, and 3265.
