Winner Al Marzo receives his iPhone 3GS prize from Director of Communications & Marketing Ian Humphreys
Congratulations to Al Marzo, the winner of the "Get Connected" social media contest. Marzo, a Langara College 3rd year nursing student, is now the proud owner of a brand new 16GB Apple iPhone 3GS valued at over $699.00.
The prize could not have gone to a more worthwhile entrant as Marzo's 6-year old Nokia cellphone is missing 8 buttons. Marzo's phone problem will no longer be missing buttons (thanks to the iPhone's touchscreen) but which applications, out of the thousands available, to download first.
"I checked my email and was so excited that I couldn't pay attention in class!" said Marzo about his win. "It's great that I get to upgrade my phone. It's going to be so useful."
In the true spirit of social media, many fellow fans have begun to leave Marzo congratulations on the Langara College Facebook site.
The "Get Connected" contest launched on August 10th, 2009 and ended Friday, September 18, 2009 at midnight. The Contest's aim was to increase awareness and connect users to Langara College's presence on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Users who became a fan, friend and/or subscriber of Langara College before the deadline were entered into a contest for a chance to win an Apple iPhone (Subscriptions on all three platforms equalled 3 chances to win).
