Vancouver, BC – On April 1, 2014, Langara College celebrated its 20th anniversary as an independent public college. The milestone was marked by two events on campus – an afternoon public celebration and a closed evening reception.

Over 900 students and staff attended the public celebration and more than 180 current and retired employees and supporters attended the evening reception. Special guests at the reception included Dr. Moira Stilwell, MLA (Vancouver-Langara); Joey Cheung, Special Assistant, Office of Wai Young, MP (Vancouver South); and Linda Holmes, the first President and CEO of Langara College. Congratulatory notes were received from BC Premier Christy Clark and Burnaby North MLA Richard T. Lee.

“Langara has been serving the needs of our diverse community for over 20 years with great success,” said Dr. Lane Trotter, Langara president and CEO. “It’s an honour to be able to share this milestone with students and staff whose commitment and vision have made Langara one of the best colleges in Canada”.
